Pin Bhabha Trek
Pin Bhaba Pass also known as Namesty Julley Trek as it starts from Kinnaur where one is greeted saying “Namesty and ends up in Spiti where the traditional way of greeting is Julley. Bhaba Pass connects the green and fertile Bhaba Valley on the Kinnaur side with the Pin Valley on the Spiti side with the altitude of 16,100 ft. One of the most beautiful and dramatic weather change can be seen during the trek. Deep in the valley you will find you and the beautiful trail as your companion leading you to the high pass. Kafnu is the base for one of the most beautiful trek route the Bhaba trek. A moderate climb towards a glacier fed stream Bhaba River, to Bhabha Pass at 4890 meters altitude to enter Pin Valley in Spiti is a challenging adventure.

- Day 01 – Shimla to Kafnu (Travel by Road)

ITINERARY
Day – 01: Shimla to Kafnu (Travel by road) | 201 kms | 6-8 hrs | 7709ft |
Shimla will be the meeting point for all fellow trekkers, trek leaders and support team. From Shimla we will drive up to Kafnu (7709 ft) which is a drive of 6 to 7 hours, and then start hiking up to the camp or Home Stay at Kafnu or Yangpa. The night we stay here and trek leader will brief you about the upcoming plan and schedule of the each day and team gets ready for the same.
Day – 02: Kafnu to Mulling | 11 kms | 6-8 hrs| 10,637 ft |
Flag off!! The trek starts from Kafnu to Mulling through the Cedar, pine and Oak tree forest. The sweet sound of birds chirping adds more charm to this spot. A trail of 11.03 kms will get you prepared for the challenging trek ahead. Will reach Mulling in the late afternoon, camp there with the view of calm Bhaba River where water also gets flattened and silent.
Day – 03: Mulling to Karah | 6.03 kms | 4-6 hrs | 11,653 ft |
Continuing our trek an early morning through rocky terrain, you will arrive at a beautiful meadow and a waterfall on the right. You can feel the flowing water stream beneath your feet on the way. You will get a stunning view after reaching Karah. Huge grassland along with Karah River and troops of horses and sheep’s can be found in a large number here. Camp here and you will have the entire afternoon to rest and prepare yourself for challenges that lie yourself for challenges that lie.
Day – 04: Karah to Phutsirang | 5 kms | 4-6 hrs | 13,474 ft |
Get ready for the most challenging route of the trek. Hence this is going to be the shortest but a steep walk of the trek where you may find loose mud and shooting stones so pace yourself accordingly. After a healthy breakfast give a start off to the trek. Will reach Phutsirang by afternoon camp here, from here you can get a glimpse of Pin Bhaba Pass (16,105 ft). Phutsirang is in the base of the pass.
Day – 05: Acclimatization and Rest day at Phutsirang | 13,474 ft |
Rest and get yourself acclimatize by taking short walks where one can find himself surrounded by the mountains. The day is yours make plans for the upcoming challenges in the further route, cook for yourself and do storytelling with the team or fellow trekkers.
Day – 06: Phutsirang to Mangrungse via Pin Bhaba Pass | 11 kms | 7-8 hrs | 16,100 ft |
The excitement runs through your veins on this day .This is the day when we cross the connecting Pass and enter in Pin Valley of Spiti District. The joy and excitement of reaching and crossing the Pass will reward you with the immense experience. You will now have lot to share with world. Will camp at Mangrungse after the thrilling and exciting day.
Day – 07: Mangrungse to Mudh | 16 kms | 7-8 hrs | 12,203 ft |
Say goodbye to the High Passes by reminiscing the entire journey that how you started and what all memories are you taking back from these mountains. Will start early morning as it is going to be the longest trail of around 17 Kms of the route. Reach Mudh get your stomach filled and again be ready for the long drive to Recongpeo or Rampur.
