Itinerary

Welcome to Kathmandu, the largest city in Nepal. The name Kathmandu hails from the Sanskrit word ‘kashtmandapam’ literally translating to ‘a wooden shelter’. As the name suggests, one can find numerous examples of spectacular wooden architecture complexes in the city. And this is where we begin our journey in Nepal.
On arrival in Kathmandu check in to your comfortable accommodation for tonight. Evening dedicated to leisure and explore as the city as you please.

After breakfast we head out for an entire day of exploring Kathmandu city. Visit the world famous Pashupatinath Temple, renowned for its historical and cultural significance. Built on the banks of holy Bagmati River, the temple complex features a blend of Nepalese pagoda and Indian Shikhara styles, with intricate wood carvings, gilded roofs, and ornate decorations.
Later explore the magnificent Kathmandu Darbar Square for its intricate wooden complexes that showcase the grandeur of a gone by era. Visit Boudhanath and Swayambhunath temples highlighting the essence of Nepalese Buddhist practices.

Head out to explore the heritage sites of Patan Darbar Square and Bhaktapur Darbar Square. Patan is a marvel of Newari architecture that includes ancient monuments, temples, shrines, statues, and idols with more than 600 stupas, 136 courtyards, and 55 major temples whereas at Bhaktapur, the 55-Window Palace is one of the main attractions here. Later drive to Nagarkot village, known for its views of the Himalaya, including Mount Everest, which are especially striking at sunrise and sunset. Relax in this quaint little village and enjoy the calmness of Nepal away from the busy capital.

An early morning wake up call, so that we don’t miss a breathtaking Himalayan sunrise and hopefully spot the king of the mountains in the panorama. After breakfast we depart for Pokhara, ‘the jewel of Himalaya’. The vibrant city of Pokhara offers magnificent Himalayan views, Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Machapuchare set against the beautiful Phewa lake of Pokhara.

Wake up to the fresh air of Pokhara city, winds flowing in straight from snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Visit the popular attractions of the city like Seti Gorge, Bindhyabasini Temple, Pokhara Regional Museum, Davis Fall and Gupteshwor Cave. Spend the evening relaxing around Phewa lake, the heart of Pokhara.

Today in the morning we visit Sarangkot, a panoramic widescreen to the Himalaya. It is a popular spot to view the massive snow-capped Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges. Later visit the Peace Stupa, one of the two in Nepal. Spend the early evening boating at Phewa lake or just exploring the lakeside cafes.

We depart from Pokhara early in the morning and trace our way back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the drive along Trishuli river as we leave the magnificent Himalayan views behind. On arrival in Kathmandu check into your stay for tonight. Spend the evening walking the streets of Thamel market and enjoying the cafes here.

All participants will be dropped at the Airport, as we end our Nepal trip today.

The travel between Kathmandu and Pokhara can be done by domestic flights as well. The itinerary can be customised accordingly on request.
