Itinerary
Welcome to Guwahati, ‘gateway to the northeast’. Report at your
accommodation for tonight and complete the pending formalities for the
journey. Daytime is free to explore the sprawling city of Guwahati situated
along the mighty Brahmaputra River. Visit the famous Kamakhya Devi temple,
in the heart of the city. At night get acquainted with the team and fellow
travellers. Receive orientation and trip guidance for the journey ahead.

After breakfast we Flag off this amazing road trip and head towards our
destination, Dirang.
Dirang is a picturesque valley in the west Kameng district of Arunachal know
for its apple plantation and hot water springs. Drive uphill through the
surreal landscape of Assam, as we enter the contrastingly beautiful terrain
of Arunachal Pradesh. Halt at Indo-Bhutan border for a tea session as we
move ahead. The beautiful valleys of Arunachal will keep you engaged as we
reach Bomdi-La pass (2217m). On arrival in Diran, check into your
comfortable stay and relax for the evening.

Its Tawang today, the beautiful land of the people of Monpa Tribe, is
located in the western most part of the state Arunachal Pradesh bordering
China and Bhutan. The district is entirely located amongst the mighty
Himalaya and has a rugged terrain with deep valleys. Drive uphill all the
way to Sela Pass (4170m) and explore the famous Sela Lake. Visit the
Jaswantgarh War Memorial paying homage to the brave martyrs of Indian Army.
On arrival in Tawang, reach your stay for tonight and relax for the evening.

The Bum La Pass is a border pass between China's Tsona County in Tibet and
India's Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh. It is one of the officially
agreed Border Personnel Meeting points between the Indian Army and the
People's Liberation Army of China, often hosting diplomatic talks and visits
by officials. Drive ahead to experience the Indo-Sino border up-close. On
the way back to Tawang, visit the high-altitude lake of Sangestar Tso
Explore the breathtaking Tawang monastery and experience mesmerizing views
of the Tawang city.

After breakfast head to Tawang market for some local exploration. Trace your
path back to Dirang and head towards Bomdi-La. Bomdila is a picturesque town
located in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. The highest point
here offers breathtaking views of the landscape around including Nechipu
Pass. Visit the famous Bomdi-la monastery and head out to explore the local
market for craft souvenirs.

After breakfast we head out to the land of the single horned Rhino,
Kaziranga.
Descend down to the plains of Assam, to the magnanimous Brahmaputra basin.
Enjoy the drive with numerous waterfalls on the way. You’ll come across
various stalls selling freshly harvested bamboo shoots. On arrival in
Kaziranga, we head to our stay for tonight. Enjoy an evening of cultural
music and dance under the starry night sky.

Meet the Kaziranga giant today, the rare single horned Rhinoceros. The
greater one-horned rhino or the Indian rhino is the largest of the rhino
species. With strict protection from Indian and Nepalese wildlife
authorities, Greater one-horned rhino numbers have recovered from under 200
last century to around 4,000 today.
Take the morning Safari to experience the biodiversity of Kaziranga National
Park. Later drive to Shillong where we halt tonight.

Today we explore Meghalaya, the abode of clouds.
After an early breakfast, drive out from Shillong to Dawki, the border
village between India and Bangladesh. Dawki is where the Umngot River will
leave your spellbound with its crystal-clear waters. Enjoy a boat ride in
the river with view of Bangladesh on the Horizon. Drive back taking a detour
towards Mawlynnong village, labelled as Asia’s cleanest village. Visit the
mesmerizing root bridge of Meghalaya sure to take you aback by the possible
marvels of nature.
Overnight stay at Shillong. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast, we head to explore Shillong city. One can shop at Polkice
bazaar for local handicraft and souvenir options or go around the city for
local sightseeing spots like Ward’s lake, Elephant falls and the state
museum. After lunch we depart for Guwahati. On our way back, stop over at
Umiam lake, for beautiful views of the Meghalayan landscape. On arrival in
Guwahati, check into your stay for tonight. Enjoy a funfilled Gala night
feast as our trip comes to an end and we revisit the memories of last few
days.

As we say goodbye to the surreal north-east, today marks the end of this
