About the Manali-Leh-Srinagar Journey

Itinerary
On arrival in Manali, check-in to your comfortable stay here and meet up
with the WH team.
The remaining day is yours to explore, rejuvenate, shop for any pending
travel accessories
and adjust to the weather conditions. Please note it is necessary to
acclimatize to the cold
weather and altitude of the region so that you are ready for the adventures
in Leh Ladakh.
Overnight stay at Hotel. (Dinner)
Our adventure begins after early morning from Manali. On the way to Sarchu,
travel across
the beautiful Solang valley followed by the engineering marvel that is Atal
Tunnel to reach
Lahaul region of Himachal. Drive upwards through the scenic villages of
Jispa, Sissu and
Keylong as we make our way to Baralacha La pass (4850) and see some stunning
views of
the confluence of the 3 valleys. Arrive in Sarchu and relax at your stay for
tonight.
Overnight stay at Sarchu. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Start the journey towards Leh as we leave Sarchu behind. Traverse through
Nakee La Pass,
Ghata Loops, and Lachung La Pass, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the
way. Stop
briefly in the Pang region and admire the beautiful landscapes. Interim stop
at Morey Plains
to admire the creativity in nature. Witness the beauty of Skyangchu Thang
which is world’s
highest and largest plateau. Arrive in Leh and rest out the evening and keep
hydrated.
Overnight at Hotel, Leh (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Take the day at ease as our body acclimatizes to the air and
altitude at Leh. Spend
the day in the city exploring old Leh town, visiting the Leh Palace, Tsemo
Monastery, Shanti
Stupa and War Memorial. Take in the amazing views of the picturesque Zanskar
range and
Indus River. Explore the Leh main market and the amazing cafés and
restaurants for a local
flavor.
Overnight at Hotel, Leh (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Today is an excursion day from Leh main town. As we acclimatize to the
climate, lets visit the
Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, Hemis National park and Gompa and Stakna
Monastery.
Explore the banks of Indus on the way, and as we reach back to the main
town, one can
walk into Moti Market for a local shopping experience.
Overnight stay at Hotel, Leh. ( Breakfast, Lunch , Dinner)
We make our way across the Khardung La Pass, situated at 5359m, the world’s
highest
motorable road, to enter the mystic Nubra Valley. Marvel at the majestic
views from
Khardung La as we halt for a while. Sandwiched between the Karakoram Range
to the north
and Ladakh range to the south, lie the Shyok and Nubra Rivers. The villages
of Nubra are
scattered along these two valley-floors. Drive along Shyok river through the
majestic
mountains and reach the village of Turtuk. The spoken language in Turtuk is
Balti and it gives
a glimpse of the region that lies beyond the LOC. Turtuk was first opened
for the tourists in the
year 2010.

Wake up to the beautiful morning of Turtuk village. Visit the Shyok War
Memorial and take a
walk to Baltic village. The culture and lifestyle of people here, is that of
present-day Baltistan.
Drive back to Hundar village for a cold mountain desert experience and
witness the
delightful grandeur of the Bactrian camel, double humped. Later visit the
Diskit Monastery
and the magnanimous statue of Maitreya Buddha.

Today we proceed to Pangong Tso, also known as Pangong Lake - one of the
world's highest
saltwater lakes. The most notable feature of this lake is its ever-changing
hues. The lake
acts as an important breeding ground for a large variety of migratory birds
like Brahminy
Ducks, rare black-necked cranes, and seagulls. We shall drive via Chang La
Pass (5360m) to
reach Pangong Tso.

Wake up to the surreal views of the breathtaking Pangong Lake with the
mountains hugging
its shore and endless extent of the waterbody till the horizon. The lake is
134 km long with
1/3rd being in India and 2/3rd in China administered Tibet. It is 5km wide
at its broadest point
and captures a magnificent panorama of the landscape. Drive back to Leh main
town later
and evening to relish in the city.

Today we say goodbye to eastern Ladakh as we head west along the Indus,
exploring Sham
Valley. Visit the famous Pathar Sahib Gurudwara followed by Magnetic Hill
and the
confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers. Later visit Alchi Gompa, the oldest
monastery in
Ladakh, also known as the monastic complex. Drive to Lamayuru and explore
the moonland
like terrain it derives its name from.
Overnight stay at Hotel, Lamayuru. (including Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
We trace our path back slightly to the point where we parted ways with Indus
and follow its
course once again to Aryan Valley. On the way, explore the famous rock art
at Achinathang
village and drive through apricot farms of this region to reach the Aryan
villages of Beema,
Garkon, Hanuthang and Dah. The region is inhabited by the Brokpas — an
exonym, used by
the Ladakhis (highlanders). Drive towards Batalik village, and further to
Hambuting La pass
(4024m) to reach Kargil village.
Overnight stay at Hotel, Kargil.(including Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Kargil has a constant wind of victory and freedom in the air. Visit the
famous Kargil war
memorial and pay homage to the martyrs of Indian Army. Drive towards Drass
village, home
to the Himalayan Brown Bear and start your climb towards Zozilla Pass
(3528m). Crossover to
the other side and enter the Kashmir valley. Reach Sonmarg and get some
rest.
Overnight stay at Hotel, Sonmarg. (including Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Wake up to the beautiful contrasting views of Kashmir valley. Sonmarg – The
meadow of
gold. It mesmerizes tourists with its natural beauty. Here we visit Fishing
point- a paradise for
fishing enthusiasts, we then walk through Sarbal Village- the last hamlet in
Northeastern
Kashmir, further we visit Sarva dharma sambhav temple. Later we proceed to
Srinagar- The
city of gardens, lakes and houseboats.
Overnight at Hotel, Srinagar. (including Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Today we enjoy a small Trek to Shankaracharya Hill followed by the iconic
Shikara ride at Dal
Lake. In the evening we enjoy Nature Time and Photography tour at the lush
green Kashmiri
gardens - Shalimar & Nishat Bagh.
Overnight at Hotel in Srinagar and Farewell dinner celebration.
As per your flight schedule our team will transfer you to the airport for
you journey back
home. Incase of a road journey back home, please coordinate with taxi
services.
